Leadership California Goes to Washington, D.C. is set for September 22-25, 2019 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. Be a part of our theme, "Witness the Power of She" by joining a select group of women on a trip to D.C. for a robust program addressing national and global issues of importance to California with a focus on:

  • Women leaders in Congress, the nation’s history and military service.
  • Participants will hear from members of Congress, experts on the nation’s history, state of the nation, and efforts to keep America safe.
  • Visits to important national landmarks and museums and an international embassy.

Learn how national issues affect California business, and how California’s business and culture influence the nation and the world

Engage with national leaders

Explore the big issues and trends driving the national dialog

Gain deeper insights into California’s role in the national and global agenda

Program Highlights

  • Presentation: “The State of the Nation: A Press Perspective,” by Susan Page, Washington Bureau Chief, USA Today (also author of the recently released, “The Matriarch: Barbara Bush and the Making of an American Dynasty”)
  • Presentation: “Eleanor Roosevelt – Blazing the Trail for Women,” by Allida Black, Research Professor of History and International Affairs, George Washington University
  • Field Trip: Symantec’s Facility in Virginia focused on “Securing the Nation”
  • Reception and Tour with the Ambassador of Mexico to the U.S. Martha Barcena at the Mexican Cultural Institute
  • Panel Discussion: “Advocacy in America”
  • Presentations by Members of Congress and a VIP tour of the Capitol
  • Visits to the National Portrait Gallery, Women’s Military Service Memorial and the African American Museum
  • Networking Lunch and Panel with Women Leaders from Leadership California and the International Women’s Forum (IWF) – DC Chapter

Who May Attend?
