Vital Conversations: A Leadership California Series on Racism and Inequity
September 14, 2020: 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Program Title: A Conversation with African American Women Leaders
Series Description: Leadership California’s Vital Conversations Series is designed to be a forum for women leaders to share their stories of racism and inequity in marginalized communities and to increase the knowledge and understanding of all participants through inspiring and candid conversation. We begin with the African American community. Future discussions will focus on the Native American, Latina and LGBTQ communities.
The death of George Floyd launched global protests and conversations about years of systemic racism and inequity for Black communities. Even in a pandemic, people took to the streets across our country to demand change. How can we increase our awareness and understanding of the experiences of Black Americans? Panelists will share their own stories and insights into how woman leaders can be a force for meaningful change in their organizations and communities.
